Propaganda is the original term for businesses, corporations, and not-for-profits in the days preceding the decade of the 1930s and 1940s.  Propaganda was never a dirty word until government was involved.  The Nation that soiled the name of "propaganda" was Germany under the horrific leadership of Adolf Hitler and his Propaganda Minister, Joseph Goebbels.  Joseph Goebbels was the man who said, "tell a lie often enough, eventually it will become the truth".
